[[SD] Sonic 2 - Chemical Plant]

Tasteful!

I'm giving this a 10 because its so classy. In a sea of obscure and sometimes horrible remixes of old sonic tunes, it's a refreshing change to see an actual remake that doesn't murder the original. Great blend of synthetic and realish instruments without being pretentious. Oh, the sax sounds pretty swell for a synth. Definately one of my fav's from s2, KUDOS! =)

Does it justice

This is one of my fav sonic tunes so I'm pretty picky about this one! But you really pulled it off and made it your own while maintaining the same essential feel.
I did a string quartet version of this, so I really appreciate the effort you went through! Very end credits-y =)

[DKC2 -Stickerbrush Symphony]

good try but didn't quite hit it for me

Good take on this, but I admit I am more harsh on others where I have done the same song! The timing in places seems off to me (ugh piano) and it just sounds a bit too much like a midi, not enough subtlety in my opinion. Though you captured the atmosphere pretty good with good strings.

[Mario64 Dire, Dire Docks]

interesting interpretation

You took some risks with this, which turned out quite good.
I did a RMX of this but mine is more of a remake, this is more of an interpretation and you pulled it off with style. I can understand that guy who gave you a 5/10 cus it didn't sound the same, but it's a shame he can't appreciate your creative license on it.

[Iridion 3D: Moon Assault[Surge]

VGM goodness

Love the bass in this, moreso as it progresses. I'm kinda glad to see other Iridion 3d remixes out there, I did one recently but it's good to see that others appreciate this humble gba game...for the music at least. The choir adds a nice gloomy touch, but I felt the drums could have been worked up a little more. I'm pretty keen to do a rmx of the end credits music and the 'above the clouds' one. Ahh so much potential!

[The Fountain]

A lot of potential but messy

You have a good control of the instruments with a good balance, but I felt it was held back by lack of structure. It sounds just very random and haphazard with no real direction. It would be wonderful along to a movie or something, but just to listen to...eeh not so keen. But kudos for the great sounding piano. And yes probably too long. A case of quantity not quality here I'm afraid, but you do have a lot of potential. The build upto 4:55 could have been so much better, but it just kinda fizzled. BUT on the other side you're really quite good at randomness... keep it up yo!

Certainly worth a 10. Such a clean, professional sound and it's not overly gimicky! Such a great blend of sounds there, I especially like the transition at 1:35. OH yeh.
I'm not familiar with this theme but I think you should be very proud with this one. Pro enough to go along side a chase scene in a movie! =)

[Early Morning Melody]

atmospheric

9! You really capture something here, love the progression and the ambient wonder of it. Though when you kicked it up a notch at around the 1 min mark it kinda lost me a bit. In my opinion it would have served better as a loop.
But dig the ending! Would've been hard to end that but you nailed it pretty good. Also the bad quality recording kinda adds to the charm.
Overall, a beautifully simple melody that is really quite emotional, and thats hard to do. KUDOS!

[The informatic loop]

mmm relaxing, not!

This isn't exactly a song, but for what it is, I think it could be very handy for someone! Kinda eerie and it works well, almost matrixy. I'd ask how you did it but then that would ruin the secret!

Sure it's not a song! Just a bit melodic but not that much. That's really "the informatic loop" I think ^^
And to answer: That's not a secret, I was recording my heart or my neck with a bad quality mic, I amplify what I had, I added some effects in Audacity. And I finally get this weird loop. Try to do it at home!! :P

Am I correct in assuming this is done in "Reason"?
I recognise that twangy piano sample. It's a shame the piano samples
don't sound better! I actually found the nn-19 piano samples sounded better,
I previously ignored the nn-19. I'm not sure about that whistley thing in the middle, it's kinda whiney. Overall suitable theme and nice development. =)
